Best Photo
This is my best photo. It is from last year's class from the first project. What is shown is a photo with a utility pole with a street lamp attach to it.
What is strong about this photo is the leading lines plus the contrast. The grey scale is almost perfect. no to bright, not to dark.
The things that I would change on this photo is maybe the different angles. I did not experiment with the angles at the time of taking the photo.

Written Statement:
Electric is the title of my photo series. My photos focus on composition and exploring how changing angles and positive and negative space can create variety in a single subject. By converting my photos to black and white, I emphasize the man made aspect of the power lines.
How are the photos visually unified? What holds the series together?
The photos are all studies of composition of positive and negative space. Creating a variety of composition by changing the POV was important in the making of this series.
Select the 3 strongest images from your series and discuss:
Photo 1,5,7
why does the photo (or do the photos) best illustrate your concept? what meaning does it (meanings do they) have?
How interesting can power poles can be with the right angles, and patterns. Also what anyone can make of it by editing the photo.
What is strong compositionally about the photos? (point of view, distance, line, shape, pattern, texture, repetition, positive and negative space....)
The POV, distance texture, and especially the lines are strong in these 3 photos.
Technically, what did you consider in the photo? (shutter speed, lighting, depth of field....)
In the original unedited pictures, the lighting was sunny and bright looking, with blue sky. edited is made darker to give a "manmade" atmosphere. depth of field is mostly consisting of the subject being is good distance away from the camera. 3/10 of the photos are close up. if the rest seem close, it was just a zoom in.
