Line and Shape
What locations and subject matter did you choose to shoot for your photos?
The pictures captured here are from various parts in the town.
Describe the photo you took:What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?)
In photo #5, I was about 5 or 6 feet away from the pole, was trying to get a very good angle.
What was your point of view when you took the photo? (from above, below, straight on...)Is your photograph horizontal or vertical?
Looking up, at an angle (left side of pole) as you can see, the street light is pointing at an angle in photo, so I was facing the road.
Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In the photo? Describe.
Which one of of your photos is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work?
5th one by far, There is so much going on here, all these telephone, cable, man wire, electric etc just going everywhere, they over lap each other going to different streets and houses. then there's that street light on the pole that just gives it even more character...

Pattern and Texture
What locations and subject matter did you choose to shoot for your photos?
At the school.
Describe the photo you took:What is the distance in the shot? (How close or far away are you from your subject?)
In photo #2, I was right in front of the chain linked fence. So, I was around 2 inches away from it.
What was your point of view when you took the photo? (from above, below, straight on...)Is your photograph horizontal or vertical?
I was looking straight on at the fence, standing up so I could get some background.
Did you consider the rule of thirds to compose your shots? In the photo? Describe.
Which one of of your photos is a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewer’s eye through the work?
The 2nd one, because you can see the pattern in the fence, the pattern is almost perfect. Also, I love the way that the fence stands out from the blurred background, you could see the tower, some houses and buildings with some trees and utility poles in the back.

Shudder Speed
FAST SHUDDER SPEED PIC: picture #2
Approximately what shutter speed did you use to freeze action?
1/1600 of a second.
What ISO and WB settings did you use?
100-200
What action did you freeze? (Describe).
I froze the people that were jumping of those rocks, I took the picture while they were mid air.
What was your distance, and point of view for the photo?
about 5-7 feet.
Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strengthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, contrast...)
There are some shapes and patterns on the shirts, not a lot of strong colors, because of BW...
SLOW SHUDDER SPEED PIC: picture #4
Approximately what shutter speed did you use to purposely blur action?
1/30 of a second.
What ISO and WB settings did you use?
Sun was shining on the lens, so around 500-1000.
What motion, or part of the image shows blur? (Describe).
Only the girl. the background is not blurred, she was mid air during the shot, making her seem blurred out.
What was your distance, and point of view for the photo?
5 feet.
Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strengthen the photo.
There is some line and shape; the sun's rays and the sun itself, a lot of strong and bright colors

Painting with Light
Describe one of your photos from painting with light.
Picture 4: as you can see, going into a dark room with all types of string lights and those light spinning things, with a camera that is set to a low shudder speed, can make the coolest effects that I've seen in pictures. you can make all types of shapes and deigns.
What shutter speed did you have the camera on?
1/15th of a second.
What light source did you use to create the painting?
A purple LED light string, and one of those light spinners.
How did you achieve the image/effect?
By swinging the light and randomly circling in the background.
What impact does the photo have? How would the viewer feel looking at your photo?
I would think that it would be a bit of a wow factor.

Apeture
Select one of your images that show a shallow depth of field.
1st one.
What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a shallow depth of field? What ISO and WB settings did you use?If you were on a point and shoot camera, what setting(s) did you use?
To be perfectly honest, the camera I have at home is a bit limited, it doesn't have that much options. So, the first 2 pictures were done by the camera automatically.
Discuss one of your images that show a large depth of field.

What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a large depth of field? What ISO and WB settings did you use?If you were on a point and shoot camera, what setting(s) did you use?
Which photo is better? Why?Why would you want to use a shallow depth of field?When/in what situation would a large depth of field be better?
The best photo in this category would have to be the 2nd photo. Because it shows

What object did you choose to shoot for your photos?
Many things by accident, bass guitar, guitar, street lighting, christmas, cats, childhood items.
What personal significance does the object have? Why is it your favorite thing?
out of the six, it would have to be my cat moody, I've always loved cats all my life.
Describe the various points of view you photographed. What setting or settings did you use to photograph the work?
The picture of the guitar bridge is look up along it, the picture of my cat it looking straight at him.
How did you avoid distracting backgrounds?
By trying to get the object in the picture as much as I could, not trying to make it TO big in the frame
Finally, how did you consider composition and depth of field in your work?
Most of the pictures have a really close depth of field

Double Exposure
What images did you select for your double exposure?
I chose two of the pictures from the expressive lighting project.
How do the objects relate compositionally?
They both show the "beauty" in the face of organic music...
How did you manipulate and modify each image?
The two pictures were combined and the background pic was faded to the point of it being ghost like and both pictures's lighting were changed.
What steps did you take to merge layers to create a unified image?
How do your images relate conceptually?
The shadow like figure in the background can show different times, from mood or whatever comes to mind.
What concept, idea or meaning does your double exposure convey?
The concept is to show how well two pictures can be one, like so:
